Year 1 – 2012
The first Fountain Pen Day will be celebrated on November 2nd, 2012. It was created to help embrace, promote, and share the use of fountain pens in day-to-day life, as well to help revive handwriting as a whole.
Our goal for this first year is simply promotion and getting the news about Fountain Pen Day out there. We hope that by using a grassroots, word-of-mouth marketing method, we will see a steady increase and noticeable spread of Fountain Pen Day influence and popularity in the years to come.

Year 2 – 2013
This year, Fountain Pen Day will be celebrated on November 1st, 2013. FPD 2012 was celebrated all across the globe in many different ways, and we hope to build on the excitement of last year to make FPD 2013 amazing and an improved foundation to build on for following years.
Our goal for this year is a continuation of our first year in that we want to help promote and get the information out there about Fountain Pen Day. We’re relying on last year’s celebrants, this year’s newcomers, and an increase in sponsor participation to help make FPD well known and as influential as possible.

Year 3 – 2014
This year, Fountain Pen Day will be celebrated on November 7th, 2014. Even though we did not anticipate the substantial increase in Fountain Pen Day participation, we were pleasantly surprised! There were many more events celebrated all over the globe and a much more thorough variety of means that people chose to celebrate the day. It was an extremely exciting time for all of us!
While our previous two years were all about spreading the word about Fountain Pen Day, this year we’re going to take a much more active role in promoting the day by working to develop the FPD website into a stronger fountain pen related information resource and lay the foundation for an active community with year-around involvement in Fountain Pen Day related activities.

Year 4 – 2015
This year, Fountain Pen Day will be celebrated on November 6th, 2015. This year like last will be lead off with a huge celebration in the Philippines. Leigh Reyes is heading the effort and it will be amazing. The Ohio Pen show is falling a week later this year so while it is not on FPD weekend it is still just days away.
While the previous 3 years were about spreading the word and building Fountain Pen Day, this year there has been more hands on with pen clubs and pen shows. As well as lot of Fountain Pen Day swag being sent out and made available to supporters. The shows and fairs being setup around the weekend has also seen an increase. Many clubs are gathering this year on the 6th & 7th at the local meeting spots or working with their local pen retailer to have the meet in a store. Bloggers have also received fair amount of swag to give away as well.
