Almost Fountain Pen Day

Well the day is almost here! It is hard to believe it has been a whole year since the madness started but it is upon us. So many new Blogs, Vendors, Manufacturers etc. have joined in to celebrate. The YouTube channel for reviews has seen an increase with just over 600 subscribers & over 40,000 views! Twitter is also pushing the 600 followers mark as well. Instagram is pretty new but has almost 140 subscribers as well. FaceBook has gotten over 1,100 likes.

Being that this is a World Wide event Fountain Pen Day has seen a broad range of vendors from around the world. From the Netherlands to New Zealand to India to the USA & Canada etc. When looking through the site stats we can see where people are coming from to view the information here and it is a huge range. Arabic, Japanese, Italian etc. the list goes on. It’s hard sometimes not being able to read what is there but just knowing that so many lovers of the fountain pen are finding out about the day is great.

While many vendors are giving discounts & having contests there are many that are hosting events for the day as well. Pen clubs and “Pen Posses” are meeting up as to talk, share and trade pens. It is a great day to share your interest and love of the hobby with those around you. To write an unexpected letter or send a pen to them. Posting on the boards with a picture of your handwritten post, please include pen & ink type as we all will want to know.

While it is the first Friday in November it is meant to be celebrated all weekend! Being on a Friday allows you to maybe bring your favorite pen to work and share your interest with those around you. Then you have the weekend to celebrate the Fountain Pen with your pen club or at your favorite retail store etc.

This years FPD drawing contest is under way and we have had some nice donations from Zeller Writing Company & The Pen Company and to add to it I have made some Midori style notebook covers to give away as well. I am not a retailer and just a lover of the pen but I wanted to do something as well. Having a little bit of a crafty side to me I researched how to make them and where to get what is needed. Hopefully those who receive them will enjoy them and find them useful.

As Aaron has said, while everyday is Fountain Pen Day it is nice to have a day set aside specifically for Fountain Pens.

So join in on the contest here as well as the others hosted by our favorite vendors out there and have a great Fountain Pen Day this year!
